Mini Tortas
Fun party food for a crowd! These Mini Tortas are packed with beef, peppers, onions and queso! We make them sheet pan style, which makes the whole process much easier.

Ingredients
- 20 mini sweet rolls, do not separate
- 3/4 cup CHI-CHI’S® Salsa con Queso
MEAT MIXTURE
- 1-pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 packet CHI-CHI’S® Taco Seasoning Mix
- 1 cup CHI-CHI’S® Thick & Chunky Salsa Hot
PEPPERS & ONIONS
- 1 green bell pepper, julienned
- 1 yellow bell pepper, julienned
- 1 medium onion, julienned
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Juice of 1/2 lime
BUTTER MIXTURE
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Mexican oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper
Directions
- In medium saucepan, cook ground beef and onions until meat is browned. Drain grease, if necessary.
- Add CHI-CHI’S® Taco Seasoning Mix and cook according to directions.
- Stir in CHI-CHI’S® Thick & Chunky Salsa Hot, remove meat mixture from heat and set aside.
- In medium saucepan, cook peppers and onions on medium heat 8-10 minutes, or until softened slightly. Add seasonings and lime juice. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In small bowl, combine butter and seasonings, set aside.
- Carefully slice sheet of rolls in half.
- Place bottom side of rolls on foil lined sheet pan.
- On bottom and top side of rolls, spread CHI-CHI’S® Salsa con Queso.
- Add meat mixture to bottom rolls, spread evenly.
- Then add peppers and onions.
- Gently place top side of rolls on bottom side of rolls.
- Brush butter mixture over tops of rolls.
- Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes. If needed, add foil over top to avoid too much browning.
- Remove from oven and cut along creases to form mini tortas.
